Ulatina’s two-week short-term programs are a great opportunity to enjoy Costa Rica and learn about the country’s efforts and development t in terms of sustainability and health. International students can enroll in programs such as Tourism and Sustainability in Costa Rica, Costa Rica Health System & Community Health, Green Energies, Sustainable Cities, and Discovering Costa Rica. Each program is taught by the best professionals in each area, who have many years of experience. The program also includes academic visits to the most important companies related to the field.

Spanish Program

The Spanish Program at Universidad Latina of Costa Rica was born in 2006 to promote learning of Spanish in linguistic and cultural immersion's context. The center is in the facilities of the University in Heredia. Each year we welcome more than 400 students of different nationalities in our classrooms, especially from the United States. Courses Our program offers both face-to-face and virtual courses. These courses have a duration of 3 to 15 weeks with 45 or 60 contact hours. Before any course, students will take an online placement test with the Program Coordinator. Our Spanish courses are available during spring, summer, fall, and winter. Courses available: Language, electives, and, specific purposes.

Biodiversity, society and the future of humanity

Biological diversity, or biodiversity, is the scientific term for the variety of life on Earth. It refers not only to species, but also to ecosystems and differences in genes within a single species. Everywhere on the planet, species live together and depend on each other. Every living being, including human beings, is involved in these complex networks of interdependent relationships, which are called ecosystems. Healthy ecosystems clean our water, purify our air, maintain our soil, regulate climate, recycle nutrients, and provide us with food. They provide raw materials and resources for medicines and other purposes. They are at the base of all civilization and sustain our economies. It's that simple: we could not live without these ""ecosystem services"". They are what we call our natural capital.
