Special Coatings for Metal Parts

Conversion coatings are obtained by transforming a metallic surface by chemical and/or electrolytic means to achieve a uniform oxide layer of the base metal, which confers greater protection against corrosion, new properties, or a different appearance, thus being used in some cases for decorative purposes. This type of coating stands out in applications for the aerospace, telecommunications, and audiovisual sectors, among others. At OPM we have installed the following processes: electroless nickel with or without deposition of other metals, chromatizing of aluminum and its alloys, stainless steel passivation, black oxide for ferrous metals, anodizing of aluminum and its alloys, electropolishing. Additionally, we have strategic partnerships within and outside Costa Rica to perform other special processes, heat treatment, NDT and coatings.
